At the beginning of August, I accepted a Graduate Assistantship working with UNCC's Office of Identity, Equity, and Engagement. I am so excited to see personal and communal growth. Only a week has passed since beginning this new journey, and I could not be more eager for the academic semester to really get rolling. #leadership #education #UNCC

I am really honored to have worked with an amazing group of passionate and driven people (Amy Drew, Brooke Morrison, and Rachel S.) this past fall who took on the task of creating a sustainable solution for an issue facing our own community. Being able to see classroom concepts applied in real life is what makes the pursuit of higher education worthwhile. https://lnkd.in/e6wTpADH

A lot has happened in the last two weeks. I lost my mom on 12/30 and got an offer for a position I couldn't be happier about. However, there is a real juxtaposition when you're grieving when you should be celebrating. I am genuinely excited to announce that I have accepted the position of Assistant Director for UNC Charlotte Niner Finances. I am honored to join this team as a full-time staff member and contribute to its mission of fostering excellence in Financial literacy.I am grateful for the opportunity to continue working with such a supportive and caring team. Words can not express how much their kindness during this time has impacted me.I look forward to embracing new challenges, learning, and growing together.A big thanks to everyone who has been a part of my journey so far, especially my mom, who will always be my biggest supporter. š

I remember telling my boss my story and having her immediately tell me, " I want you to write about that!" Never would I have guessed that I would share my journey of prioritizing paying off my student debt. šøšThe weight of student debt can feel overwhelming. But today, I'm celebrating the power of perseverance, financial discipline, and the overwhelming support from my family. š I was encouraged to write about my experience in an article, sharing the strategies and lessons I learned along the way. Whether you're just starting your repayment journey or nearing the finish line, I hope my story can inspire and guide you.I invite you to check it out, share your thoughts, and let's foster a community where we can empower each other on the road to financial freedom. šš”https://lnkd.in/gqMptYcF

I have always been asked, "What is next? A doctoral program?". As much as I admire those pursuing those programs, I wanted to take a path less followed, and some would also say less predictable. As the world changes, why not change along with it? As a first-generation college student, I was thrown into my undergraduate degree without knowing the practicality of it, so I continued to a Master's in Educational Leadership, hoping to fill that void. Only to find the stark reality and the politics that come with the world of Higher Education. Now is my time to take what I have learned and do what I want, not because someone told me I would be good at it or it was just assumed I would go into that field. I am excited to announce that starting in August, I will begin my M.B.A. program with a concentration in Business Analytics.
